PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES

As an active member in the community, Future Stars, Inc. conducts internet awareness and other life skills workshops at local churches, community centers and schools. These trainings include in depth computer usage skills , with the hope of increasing science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) students.

HANDS ON STEM PROGRAM + FAIR

The Hands On STEM Program was launched in 2015 at the Faye Gray Recreation Center to create opportunities for students to engage in kinesthetic learning, rather than simply listening to a lecture or watching demonstrations. It was birthed to celebrate the Future Star mentorship students’ hard work. Our inaugural event supported approximately 25 students and has expanded to serving nearly 350 students annually.

HANDS ON STEM MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

We introduced Mentoring for qualifying students to receive a plan specifically created to meet their needs. A mentor works with the student on a regular basis using a strengths-based model of encouragement and consistency. Ultimately, each student achieves visible academic improvement up to and beyond college enrollment.
